Spike our Drink tonight had an epic battle to the top of the league for their first set of Champions headbands with Underdog for 2017. They started off the night with a very heated and close match against the E! True Volleyball Story. The first game a huge lead to start out and then down 2 points, the second game up 2 points. But that final round Spike our Drink found their momentum and came away with the win.
Then on to round two against the reigning #1 seed in playoffs Bump Set Brews. Their opponents were excited going into it that Spike our Drink had just used a lot of their energy to go three rounds with their first opponent of the evening. Would they be able to maintain their momentum into the finish? The answer is a powerful yes! Yes they were tired, yes they had played full out for an hour and a half already, and yes they would again come out victorious!
Great job Spike our Drink for an exciting round of playoffs at Harriet Tubman and we're excited to see you again in the coming seasons.
This week player of the week goes to Steven! Steven is a source of enthusiasm for his team. When they are in a tough spot he reminds them to be silly and dance it out. This round he even borrowed a signature spike from Dustin with a full 360 sideways arm swing.
Congratulations Steven for being our Player of the Week!
Dustin entertained and helped his team score points all night, especially with his creative serves. Alternating between lasers, lofted balls and back, no one knew what was coming next! Dustin also kept the whole court laughing with great one-liners and encouraging comments. Nice work, Dustin!
