It all came down to the final play Sunday. With the score 25-26, the Portland Shockwave had just scored a touchdown. It seemed like a no brainer to go for "2" to win the game.
But in the end Nick Weber Safely Blitzed the Shockwave pass batting the ball to the ground. Winning the game, but more importantly claiming $50 bar tab for his Safley Blitzed team.
"A team that drinks together stays together." The Safely Blitzed team embraces that motto. The team awoke from its stupor Sunday, April 1rst to find itself in the championship game. No one was more surprised than Nick Weber. He batted down a last second "2" point attempt by the shockwave. He claimed a glorious 26-25 win for his team and a glorious $50 bar tab!
Kristie started out the game well for Safely Blitzed. On the 1st play of the game, Kristie picked off an Indy #1 pass and returned it for 6. Kristie went on to be an offensive force catching passes up and down the field.
