The Rainman was not in the house, so there was no one who could really tell who was ahead during any given frame in the championship. The two teams were within a few dozen total pins during the whole final, and it was up in the air until the final tally as to who had won. Pencil, paper, and cell phone calculators agreed - the slightly favored Bourbon Crew had de-throned Hell on Wood as the top team in Big Turkey Bowling. The man known as 'Nerd' was capped again, rolling a key 214... and Ron Jeremy came through - ummm - huge with a 156. Congrats Bourbon Crew! Hell on Wood was overheard post game at the bar saying that this winter 'It's on like Donkey Kong.' We shall see.
The man on the screen for the playoffs and finals as 'Nerd' put up more big numbers when it counted. After a respectable 178 in game 1 to help the Bourbon Crew overcome a determined Sweet Sweet China squad, Lucas got himself capped with a 214 in game 2 to lead the masters of the bowling league chant over the defending champs, Hell on Wood, by only 12 pins. With a run of 7 or 8 eight strikes in there, he also nabbed a few drink tickets to fuel his team. Well done.
Big luke is the Big Turkey Bowler of the week leading the 'crew' to a big win over Napolean Bowlamite. Luke put up 6 consecutive strikes to start off the night en route to a 235 and a lot of beer. After all the beer luke put up a measly 193 in game two and was cerimoniously booed by everyone in the league and pelted with hotdogs and delicious Hollywood Lanes tater tots. Way to go Luke....
Amy (don't call me Betsy) Coyle finished up the night with three consecutive strikes in the old 10th frame to help lead the burbon Crew past their arch rivals (and good buddies) Farenheit 107. After the third strike the crowd errupted in cheers after which Amy flashed the crowd and was immediately arrested by the PPD and indicted for insider trading - Way to go Betsy...
