From her opening pitch, it was clear that Avendors 4: Escape from the Soggy Diamond pitcher Castle Riecke was ready to compete Thursday. After quickly recording the first out of the game, Castle conceded a few hits in the first inning as Milwaukie Lumber loaded the bases with one out. But she battled out of the jam, inducing two pop ups to allow just one run to score in the inning. Castle went on to record two shutout innings in her six innings on the mound. She was equally effective at the plate, bringing in two runs with a sharp single in the third inning. Her composure in a complete game performance was key in leading Avendors 4: Escape from the Soggy Diamond to a 29-6 win over Milwaukie Lumber.
