You could not have asked for a better evening to play some championship Underdog Softball last night. Oregon Hot Tub/AllSpa had just advanced to the championship game after a strong victory in the semi-finals. 5 seeded Beautiful Strangers had already had a successful season reaching the championship game for the first time in their existence. Second seeded Oregon Hot Tub/AllSpa got out to an early 3 run lead through the first inning and even a larger one into the second inning. This is when the magic began to happen. Beautiful Strangers began to chip away at the lead and before you knew it, it was the bottom of the 7th and they held a 2-run lead. With two outs and a runner on first there was a hard hit ball into right field and the right fielder came up throwing. The runner from first made it to third, but overran the bag slightly and the throw was on time and on target to get the tag to end the game and secure the Championship crown for the Beautiful Strangers. Starting as an Indy Team 3 years ago, it is a great accomplishment to have won a Division 1 Championship! Great job, Beautiful Strangers!
Skyler Flood from Beautiful Strangers is always cheery and excited to be on the mound, regardless of the scoreboard. He's got a real good eye and arm for hitting the corners of the plate and smiling while doing so too. He's always vocally supportive of his teammates when they're in the field and up to bat. Skyler is a great hitter and likes to mess around with the opposing team when he's rounding the bases. Keep up the good work and great attitudes, Beautiful Strangers!
