What an amazing game by Zach. He have awesome jumps and was ready at any moment in the front to block or spike a ball. Zach has great athleticism, he easily adjusts into another position to receive the ball. More importantly he is a wonderful team member, ready to assist the team and cheering them on. Keep it up!
This week's POTW easily goes to Sets on Sets on Sets's Krista Kahmann for her impressive performance in grinding out wins for her team. Everyone was on the edge of their seats (well, those of us spectators) witnessing one of the most intense matchups of the season between the Sets and Wheels. Krista was right in the mix with plunging to the floor for one-arm saves and delivering the 1-2 punch with service perfection when it really counted. Both the first and second sets were close and went into extra points. And that's where Krista comes in as she seemed to be right where she needed to be on the court in any given situation. Her solid play on both offense and defense was the "it" factor and stood out for the POTW honors!
POTW for this week was a unanimous choice among her teammates on Sets on Sets on Sets and pretty much everyone else in the St. Charles gym on Thursday night. And we're talking none other than Laura Sullivan, who is quite the nimble gal when it comes to assists. You need a bump, she's got you covered, one-armed and all. You need a set, she's there, with picture-perfect loft to set up a crushing kill. You need a rocket serve, Laura says "No prob", and proceeds to deliver the goods with points and consistency. And when you need the intensity and focus to win a super-close 3rd set, here comes Laura to rally the Sets with spirit and grit. And win they did thanks to her all-out performance. Here's to you, Laura Sullivan - POTW for February 21!
