First Place

Summer Softcore Kickball at Col Summers Tue/Thur

The end of this long journey couldn’t have ended better. Coming into the season as a completely new team, float kids took their time to understand Underdog kickball as all new teams do. It wasn’t necessarily in the plans to reach the championship game and then also win it, but the growth that happened over the last 7 or so weeks had float kids peaking at just the right time to take the playoffs by storm. While the focused and determined champions that were crowned this past Thursday night didn’t resemble the same disgruntled group of coworkers and friends that started the season, the joy and love of being around each other stayed consistent and made this team the family it needed to become to accomplish all that it did.

Thursday, August 29

Hau does she do it?

We aren’t ever truly sure what to expect when Hau is up on the pitcher’s mound. Throughout the season, we’ve seen a lot of wild pitches, weird moments, and of course, great plays after great plays. Hau inspired her team when they needed it the most and calmed them down when things got hectic. Leadership from the mound and the third base coach’s box week after week showed why Hau became the heart of the team and one of its most important players. Needing her again, float kids looked to Hau for that extra motivation that led them to the title.
