Spiked Punch went up against the undefeated Gravy Diggers for Thursday nights Final match-up, and what a game!
The Gravy Diggers won their first set against All Balls In, and were able to take them in 2. However, Spiked Punch first played JTT for the spot in Finals, and JTT would not go down without a fight. But they didn't slow down or ease up even in the slightest for their match-up against Gravy Diggers. Each game went over 20 minutes, as the Gravy Diggers showed why they went undefeated with some extremely smart play, great defense, and big serves. Gravy Diggers won the first game 25-23, but Spiked Punch came back with a vengeance.
After coming back from 14-18, Spiked Punch came back to win the second game, and then came out with the early lead in the third game 17-6, to win it all. Both teams fought extremely hard, and ended up going 20 minutes over their time! But they still remained good sports, shook hands, and congratulated each other after every game. Congratulations on your win, Spiked Punch! Keep up the great work.
This weeks player of the week goes to Elsa Peterson of Spiked Punch, or, as I like to call her, Miss Enthusiastic. Elsa came on to the court excited and ready to play, helping lead her team in a close victory in game one, and a close, nail biting loss in game two. Even as her team started to trail in game three, Elsa never lost her spunk. Did she just start a high-five wave coming off the court to her teammates and the adoring spectators? Yes. Yes she did.
Elsa, keep up the great work, and congratulations of being player of the week!
