Player of the Week goes to Amy Shook for her epic vocalizing throughout the game. Everyone in the bleachers (and Eastmoreland), was awake, alert, and enthusiastic when Amy's calls shook the stands. There is speculation she took voice lessons to master that level of cheering, but one thing is for sure - the excitement in that team never faltered.
This week, the SE PDX courts saw a lot of athletic play, from vicious overhand serves, to leaping hits to return errant balls. Even with the high level of play, Christine Willey stood out. Is it the way she risked life and limb to dive on the floor to return spikes for her team? Is it the way she got up like it was nothing to serve a perfect ball? It's both these things, and how it always looked like she and all of "We Got Hops" were consistently having a fantastic time playing on Thursday night. Congrats to Christine and her team for having a great week!
