Summer Co-ed Softball at Gabriel Park Sundays

Although short on sleep from a long flight back from Denver just hours before their first game, Casual Encounters dug deep (thank you Red Bull) on this sun-drenched day for playoff softball at Gabriel Park. Bat Intentions pushed them to their limits in a hard fought semi-final game, a 14-12 win that propelled them against Pitched be crazy in the championship game.
Casual Encounters bats were hot from the first pitch, putting them up big in the first couple of innings. With shortstop Ken sacrificing his shins & pearly whites on defense, the entire team continuing the hit parade for the rest of the game, and ace Scott painting the corners on the mound, Casual Encounters put on the championship wristbands after a near perfect final game for the summer season.

Lefties don't play 3rd base in softball. It just doesn't happen. Don't tell that to Kate of Casual Encounters...yep, she' left handed & dominated 3rd base on a sun-drenched field at Hamilton Park on Sunday. It was either a long, spot on throw to first base or recording one out after another at 3rd during both of their games...Kate kept it coming all day long and held down the hot corner like the veteran Underdog all star she's become of the years.
Congrats on a stellar afternoon Kate..it was the right decision by Scott to put your leftyness at 3rd base this afternoon :)
