Our Midcore 2 champs were none other than the Volleyball Junkies. A well known Underdog team that has the attitude to win big when they need to did just that tonight in a close game against Thursdays Tallest team of the season, The Circus.
It was veterans versus rookies in this Midcore 2 Championship Showdown. History repeated itself tonight with another Volleyball Junkies win. They were ready to play tonight. The team was together and ready to earn their first 2014 championship wristband. They will be playing with some confidence now that they have their consecutive bands to sport.
Tonight championship match was all about ball placement and who was looking to see where the other team wasn't. We had hard serving and big blocking tonight to make it a fun match to watch. Both teams gave it their all in games 1 and 2 and we went to a rubber match for game three that the Junkies inched out a win in.
Great job to both teams but High Five to the Junkies for Taking home the championship for Woks Up Thursdays! See you next week, be ready to defend your title!
This weeks player of the week goes to long time Underdoger Ryan Crooks! Ryan keeps the game fun for his teammates and also adds a great amount of skill to their strong team. Even during a late game he keeps his teams spirits high. They played a tough team in the Tangerine Speedo's this week but they had a 3 game sweep. Ryan had some powerful serves that keep the Junkies ahead the whole night. Great job Ryan and team! See you in the playoffs.
