Fall Co-ed Volleyball at Eastmoreland Courts Tuesdays

We're gonna launch the Fall Tuesday Nights at Eastmoreland VB season with a little bit of an out-of-the-box USL Player of the Week designation. Not because we have double awardees - but because we have a THIRD awardee!! Nate and Mara Seier are beginning their lives as new parents by continuing to participate in some masterful play as part of the Bad News Bears. And they brought along 3 month old son, Jack with NO BABYSITTER! This couple can multi-task! While Jack slept away in his stroller for the first couple of games amid a very raucous noise level, Mom and Dad went to work delivering some crazy setting, accurate service and nifty blocking at net by Nate to take the second game 25-19. Bolstered by a good nap, Jack awoke by the third set to drink a bottle during a brief break, then watch as the Bears dropped the match 2-1 to Diggin' Deep. Judging by the big smile on the little one's face at the end of the evening, we're pretty sure he'll follow in Nate and Mara's footsteps by joining a USL VB team in about 21 years. Congrats Seier family!!

David Bryan of Set Me Up.....On A Tuesday should consider a career as a pilot or some opportunity where he can spend a lot of time in the air. Because that's where he seems most comfortable. David put on a clinic at net vs. Take A Hit with his incessant barrage of accurate killing. Seriously, this guy must have racked up at least 5 clean kills in each set and especially when it came down to the wire in Set 3 as Take A Hit were knocking on victory's door. With an exciting exchange of the lead, both teams were sacrificing bodies and hits to gain momentum. That's when David saved his best for last by bringing on key kills at the finish to end Take A Hit's threat for victory and winning the set 25-23. David wasn't only consistent at kills, but also some clever service and great defense. Sky high flying wins the day!

Jenna swapped her hot pink jersey for a charcoal gray kit and saved the day! Thanks to her willingness to swap in on her opponents team, both Get It Up and You Can't Sets With Us got to play tonight.....and what a match it was. Jenna was a beast at the net, an anchor in the back court, and she couldn't miss with her serves. Her killer attitude and quality skills made it a night for the books. Thanks Jenna!

Leave it to Meghan to keep her team (and the competitors) entertained all evening. Between dancing around between sets and hiking her pants up like Steve Urkel with her Underdog uniform tucked in, there's no doubt Meghan is the "team clown"! She has now been nominated the official team comedian. Keep those laughs coming!
