Bowling Schedule

Winter Big Turkey Bowling Portland Thursday - 7pm

Thursday, February 2

POTW: Rose Braden
Indy Team #2
In the inagural thursday night leage for Hollywood this year, Rose proved she was big turkey material predicting a strike in the 10th frame much like Babe Ruth in the 1927 world series. After much debating about her "called strike" she picked up her prize shirt and wandered off into the sunset....a bowling ball slung over her shoulder. Nice work Rose....

POTW: Carrie Henderson
Sucmabowls
Taking home POTW honors this week is none other than the SUCMABOWLS star roller Carrie. Early in the night Carrie placed a friendly wager with the Big Turkey, and proved victorious. Carrie bet the that she could improve on last week's score by 50%. That meant she needed to roll an 81 (50% better than last weeks 54). And like a hustler she lays an 89 on Big Turkey and not only wins the bet, but vaults her team to a win in the match.

Cheers Carrie,

It just goes to show you, gambling on Co-Rec bowling does pay! <br>

POTW: Amy Douglass
Sweet Sweet China
When the Big Turkey was young his grandpa used to tell a joke that simply went: How long is Chinese? But more on that in a minute.

Congrats Amy, for reaching the pinnacle of Big Turkey Bowling - POTW! Way to go. Amy rolled not one but 2 amazing games this week leading her team to a 4pt sweep of their opponents. Her 173 in the second game was a personal best!

So how long is Chinese? Yes! 'How Long' is indeed from China. And to you Big Turkey fans, I leave you with this riddle. How Sweet is China?

From the looks of things I would say Sweet Sweet!

POTW: Glenn Hoffinger
Bon Chic Rollers
"I was just on tonight, what can I say?" Holy Big Turkey Glenn, if you didn't get the POTW this week it would have been because the Big Turkey was too hungover to see the computer screen this morning. Fortunately for both of us that is not the case. As I sit here and look back 80's night at Hollywood, amongst all the crimped hair, leg warmers, and that dude from Say Anything, Glenn's 181 and 190 games stood out like Mr T. at a Star Trek convention.

POTW: Larry Kotan
Minds In The Gutter-Indy #2
Larry aka Thor takes home POTW honors this week for any number of reasons. It could have been the called turkey in the 2nd game, providing his team two solid 156 games and vauting them into the playoffs, or the sweet dance moves after each strike. In fact, it seemd the two teams were competing more for the best celebration dance than a league win. So congrats Larry, you definatly rock out with your turkey out.

POTW: Ben Nelson
Sweet Sweet China
For leading his team into the finals, and having the best t-shirts around, Ben is this week's POTW. If you read the champ story you know that Ben's team Sweet Sweet China had to fight tooth and nail to get into the final game. And in that double OT victory Ben anchored his team with two spares, the first re-tied the match forcing the 2nd OT, and his second spare sealed the deal. Congrats Ben, thanks for the great shirts, disgusting team name stories, and leading your team to the Championship.
