Bowling Schedule

PDX Winter Big Turkey Bowling Wednesdays 7pm

Wednesday, January 24

POTW: Kathrine Giacchino
The Krzebowlskis
Katherine Giacchino is our pick for the player of the week, because she was able to nearly double her score from the first game to the second. This is not a easy task to accomplish. Based on exponential theories in math, continuing with this kind of effort, she should be rolling a solid 9000 by the final week's end. Way to go Katherine! Keep up the good work.

POTW: Aaron Burton
Here for the Beer! - Indy #1
Who would have thought that James Bond arrives to the night's action via bus, but as I rode toward the alley Aaron was sitting right next to me. His (and his teamates) James and Jane Bond portrayals were magnificent. He not only rolled in style to the alley, but he bowled in style rolling a 143 and 123 in his stylish black tux.

No bowling next week - Valintine's Day
POTW: Aaron Burton
Here for the Beer! - Indy #1
Apparently Aaron is here for more than just the "beer". After a respectable 124 in the first game, Aaron put that beer to good use and rolled his way to a 201 in the second game, a 77 point increase. The team captured 3 points and are poised to make a run at the playoffs.

POTW: John Crumley
The White Russians
John rocked the funniest and most extravagant Pirate get up in all the land this week, and for that he earns POTW honors. Word was that while the mustache may have been fake the "stash" was very real. Way to go John, you Pirate of the Cannibbean.

POTW: Brooke Sinclair
Here for the Beer! - Indy #1
As I've heard a wise man once say in a great film, "Some times you bite the bar, and sometimes the bar bites back," and on this fifth week of league play this universal truth could not more self evident. Brooke Sinclair rose to the challenge by scoring a career best 138 in the first game. She was calm cool and collected, and surpassed her previous week's best score by more than 40 points. She clearly bit the bar in that round.

But the universe always seems to have a way to balance things out, and in the second game the bar bit back hard. She again stayed calm cool and collected, but she also missed a lot of pins in scoring an 84.

So goes the gentle balance of all things, even in bowling. The ancient Chinese culture call it Yin and Yang, and maybe we all witnessed a bit of the universe self correcting itself on this memorable night.

I for one would like to thank Brooke for creating universal harmony through bowling. A feat that will not soon be forgotten. I guess the real universal truth is that sometimes both you and the bar will bite each other at the same time. Ouch.

POTW: Eli Schmitz
The Krzebowlskis
Eli Schmitz was dominant in leading the Krezbowlskis to glory. He was unstopable in his approach, and poised under the pressure of the bright lights. His 155 in the first game (which was the high score for both teams) helped propel his team to the finals and the promised land. After that magnificent performance, did he give in to the pressure? The answer was a definitive no. He Rolled another solid game of a 133, and helped solidify the teams position as the league champs. Congratulations must go out to Eli, and all of the Krezbowlskis for a dominating performance through the regular season and the playoffs.
