Lizzy Safranski
Electroluminators
The 6:00pm game at Irving Park on Wednesday showcased the dazzling defensive prowess of Lizzy Safranski, a player whose leather skills and nimbleness at first base made the entire infield look good all game long. Close was close enough for Lizzy on many of the throws that came her direction, helping her team secure a 19-13 hard-fought victory against always competitive Therminators.
Congrats Lizzy...all of us at the park (especially your son) were in awe of you owning first base on a fine evening for Underdog softball.

Andy Eiden
Therminators avoid loss thanks to Andy's big day at the plate.
A hard-fought battle between the Therminators & I'm With Stupid ended in a tie, but could have been much worse for the Therminators were it not for Andy Eiden's day at the plate. Andy hit two tape-measure HRs and capped it off with an RBI double in the 17-17 tie.

Casey McLafferty
Casey & Bunt for Red October turn key Double Play to secure win
In an intense battle such as this was, it often comes down to a single key play. During a potential rally by the CLEAResult team, Casey McLafferty was instrumental in executing an inning-ending Double Play to diffuse the rally and secure a win for his team, The Bunt for Red October. Well played!
Alexis' big hit ties game, leads to win for The Bunt for Red October
Alexis Crandall's 2 RBI hit tied the game with two outs in the Bottom of the 7th. She later scored the game-winning run for The Bunt for Red October in a see-saw battle against the Therminators. It doesn't get much more dramatic or exciting than a walk-off win, and this game had it all. Congrats to Alexis and The Bunt for Red October on their big win!

Todd Coady
Cascade Subcoolers
Todd's passion for the catcher's position and his home state of Maryland were on full display at Irving Park on Wednesday evening. You may not know Todd by his name, but those on the field can't miss him behind the plate with amazing Maryland state flag socks & his ability to call a pitch location even before the ball has left the pitcher's hand. On this evening Todd had a sweet foul tip catch for an out, excellent control of his pitcher with his pitch selection and an almost put out of a runner at home plate.
An all-around great game for Todd at Irving Park. And always remember Todd, if you see Eric rounding 3rd base and ready to score, make sure you're a wee bit further off the plate when applying the tag :)

maxwell miller
Max leads I'm With Stupid to a big win in last game of regular season
Max Miller was 5-for-5 in a see-saw battle between I'm With Stupid and The Bunt For Red October. His hitting was a big difference maker in the 35-21 victory, as I'm With Stupid ends the regular season on a high note.
Kristina Chen's RBIs key to playoff win for Under Easy
Under Easy lived up to their billing as top seed, overmatching Bunt for Red October thanks to Kristina Chen's RBIs in big situations. Kristina's key hit early in the game set the tone, and late in the game put it away for Under Easy as they rolled to a 13-4 victory.
Tommy's brilliant pitching and HR key to Under Easy's championship win
Thomas "Tommy" Pomeroy was a key -- both as a pitcher and a hitter -- to Under Easy's victory over I'm With Stupid. Tommy used a deceptively casual demeanor to his advantage, both in the field and at the plate -- avoiding the big inning while on the mound, and smacking a HR into deep centerfield that was the turning point of the Championship Game (with a final score of 22-13). Congrats to Under Easy in their hard-fought victory and well deserved title of Champs.
