This season's Wednesday night Big Turkey bowling had a lot of talented, creative, and spirited bowlers- as evidenced by a very exciting playoff night.
In the first round, THRUST and Elbow Chunks went head-to-head, while Scrubs and Body by Bowling battled to make it to the championship game. Scrubs came out strong in the first round, handily defeating Body by Bowling- with Jeremy and Jamie's very impressive high scores of 200 and 121 respectively- Scrubs finished the first game with a team score of 612! Body by Bowling did not go down without a fight- unfortunately, Robert and Lani's 189 and 119 scores were just not enough to eke out a victory.
Meanwhile, THRUST and Elbow Chunks were playing a much tighter game, with the final team score difference of only a few points. On the Elbow Chunks side, Nick and Sarah held the high scores for their team; while Matt and Michelle were able to lead THRUST to a very exciting victory- leaving them to battle Scrubs in the final round.
THRUST felt like the underdogs going into the championship round. Scrubs are known to be consistent bowlers and tough competitors in Pro 300 Big Turkey Bowling. Nobody was sure if THRUST would stand a chance against the former Pro 300 champs... Scrubs did prove to be tough competitors in the final round. But like true Underdog champs, THRUST rose to the occasion and played a terrific game- and ended up our champs this season. All hail THRUST!
A special shout out to our other winners- The Bowled and the Beautiful destroyed the competition in the No-Tap games, and Gutter Done were our Spirit Champs (appropriately decked out in Fat Tuesday beads!)!
