Another huge Thursday night bowling season has ended, but not before a great big finale to a great big league! Beastie Balls have done it again, friends. This time, it wasn't so easy...
The Beasties pulled off a great first win against Handrolled early in the evening, but Two Fingers, One Thumb were already on fire with a huge 671 first game against Spare Some Green?.
Just about half the alley was filled with Underdog greatness. The remaining 14 teams beside the championship games were rockin' through a great No-Tap competition. I have never seen so many great no-tap rollers in my day and, wow, there were a ton! Teams racking up No-Tap Big Turkeys up and down those lanes! Wooh!
While Beastie Balls squared off against Two Fingers, One Thumb the Spirit Champions of the league were announced. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter pulls out a huge number of Spirit Coupons for the season and manages to just barely eek out a win over Schweaty Balls, who's dancing, cheering and general shinaniganry have been top notch from day 1.
As the latter frames of the championship game closed in, the board was showing Two Fingers, One Thumb with a nice, safe lead almost into the 9th. Beastie Balls pulled themselves together for one last push to the finish line. Almost silent with nervous, yet determined looks on all their faces, they drank more beer. Off in the distance, you hear My Fingers Smell Like Your Ball cheering for a No-Tap win. Then, only the sound of a bowling ball growling down the lane to it's final destination... STRIKE!
Cheers all around on the Beastie Ball bench. The nail in the coffin slams home as another huge 10th frame strike out puts them over the top! WOOOOOH!
