POTW: Naomi Head
Team Mishizzles
Summer League is under way and so was Naomi Head. It is almost as she was counting down the hours to get back on the field and catch the pigskin again.
Naomi led her team by talking up a storm to get her team motivated. She caught a few passes and finished the game with 2 touchdowns and an amazing 1000 yards receiving. I'm not sure how she did it, but she was like a ninja.....all over the place!
Congratulations to Naomi Head, this opening week's player of the week.

POTW: Lydia Koo
Refugee Runnerz
Refugee Runner's Lydia Koo is always ready to play like the energizer bunny powering up a UFO. She took the field today mentioning that her dream is to make an interception.
Playing zone defense, she covered her area well and was right on top of anyone that came across her area with the ball. She made key stops on defense, stopping her opponents just short of 1st downs.
On the last play of the game, Lydia playing her zone coverage like samurai with his sword reading his opponent. The ball is thrown and tipped in the air, you can see her eyes get big and she makes the interception....the dream interception. Congratulations to attaining her goal, she is this weeks player of the game.

Practice?

Player of the Week
Practice? We talking about practice? Unlike the infamous Allen Iverson speech practice not only helped Amy Garlock, but it helped out the entire team.
Flying Elbow Drop (from the top ropes) was out on the field early on to practice and it showed in their game play today.
Amy Garlock stepped on to the field, very confident and rocking out high red socks with the words "Bacon" in bold white letters. I think that distracted the opposing team because she found herself open quit often and led her team with 155 yards receiving and 3 flag pulls. As if that wasn't enough, when she was on the sidelines, she was cheering her team on with positive vibrations.
This is exactly what Underdog Sports League is about.....good times. Congratulations to Amy Garlock, the player of the week

Misdirection

Player of the week
Martha ate her Wheaties this morning, leading her team to a victory on the field today. Multiple Scorgasms' game plan was to use Martha as a distraction.
This plan seemed to work because she was out there making everyone laugh and having all eyes on her as Multiple Scorgasms scored touchdown after touchdown. Then when least expected, Martha had a couple of amazing catches on her knees.
She also played quarterback a couple of times leading to 1st downs. Martha played her team's game plan to perfection and gets the player of the week award.

Players of the week
If its not Chris, its Brandon. Between both players, they wreaked havoc over the opposing team. Brandon Jones would play as quarterback and just when you think he would be sacked, he would make amazing off balance passes to Chris Burgos and he would take it the rest of the way to the house.
Between the two of them, they ended up with 6 touchdowns and outstanding "Did you see that?" plays! It was like watching Superman and Batman play football.
Congratulations to the Dynamic Duo for the players of the week

Player of the week
When Aaron steps on the field, he usually has a big smile and jokes around. When goes out for a deep pass and the ball is thrown to him, rarely does he catch it.
Today however, he stepped up his game and caught 3 touchdowns. He wanted to prove his point that he can catch the ball and so he made 3 interceptions as well. After today's performance it was no longer "Stonehands" but now is "Chocolate Thunder". Congratulations to Aaron for making it this week's player of the week.

Player of the Week
Deanna Rizzo played a nearly flawless game against Flying Elbow Drop (from the top rope) on Sunday's playoff game.
She took the field and right away began to make reception after reception. In the 1st half she ended with a couple of deep receptions on 3rd down conversions.
When the final whistle blew, Deanne ended the game with 2 touchdowns including a 30 yard reception that turned into a 90 yard gain. Congratulations to Deanne for being this week's player of the week.

Player of the Week
Josh Lovell is always in contention for player of the week, but never is a recipient of the award. In the co-ed championship game he took that to heart and proved why he should be "Da Man".
After being quite in the 1st half, he finally said "give me the ball!" Once he had it, he made it seem as he was playing Techmo Bowl on the Nintendo. He ended the game scoring 4 touchdowns, including one 90 yard dash into the end zone as everyone's jaws dropped. But his best highlight was the best off-setting penalties complaint ever witnessed. And for that he gets this weeks player of the week. Congratulations!
