Vernon came out ready to get "DOWN" and start this Fall Volleyball League off on the right foot.

He rocked the volleyball court from start to finish last night and encouraged his team to do the same. This Fella was chasing and diving for balls left and right across the court. He smashed the ball down the court like a pro without blinking twice. He made a great effort to go after every ball and have fun. Great match Vernon.

What a game, what a game, what a game!!! When it comes to passion, drive, teamwork, and style..... E! True Volleyball Story delivers like DiGiorno. Each player stood out in their own way, but combined this team soared to win 3 very close games. Hard swings were driven from the net and stinging runs of serves rained all over their opponents. There back line of defense dug every ball like there was a pot of gold waiting for them at the end of the match. Good hustle E!!

When it comes to playing volleyball, this player is surely good at Shaggin some serious balls. Jeff's volleyball skills are like Costco the mega store, he has everything a skilled player could possibly want and need times 10. Dig after dig, spike after spike, block after block, serve after serve, and set after set. This guy was unstoppable, one thing is for sure - this man defiantly has been eating his daily dose a Wheaties. Way to lead your team to victory Jeff.

Skills, skills, skills, and more skills. That is exactly what this player has, and a pretty sweet head band as well.

He was flying through the air like superman to smash bombs on his opponents. He served like a machine, aces and flying whistles one right after another.

The best play by far for the ENTIRE night was his pancake.... no it was not a pancake from Denny's but a good ol' fashion volleyball pancake.

Mike through his body on the ground and stretched his hand out and the ball bounced off his hand and up into their for his teammates to continue the intense rally. If you blinked you would of missed it. Great play Mike!!!

Down N' Dirty Diggers volleyballer, Michelle, took a spike to the face that dropped her to the court. No worries. She shook it off in a matter of moments, got to her feet, and got her hands back together, ready to earn her team 3 points.

Serious volleyballs were flying through the air when the doors fly open and in comes Joe Gawron rockin' out a chicken head piece on top of his head to ease some tension on the courts.
The Bad News Beers ended up loosing their 1st two games and then it was chicken head time. In the 3rd game Joe put on the chicken piece again and had his team do the chicken dance. Right away they scored and took and early lead in the game. Unfortunately they lost the match for the evening, but it was enough to rally his troops and have fun while doing it. Because of that rally, his team has now dubbed him "El Pollo" and for that this week's player of the week award goes to Joe "El Pollo" Gawron......Bah-cawk!

Cheering, Ranting, and Raving
"What court are we playing on"? That is what Sara Johnson from The E! True Volleyball Story asked me when she entered the gym. No "Hi" no "I'm doing great" she was all about business. When talking to her I found out that she was going to have family come out and watch her play and she had asked to ensure that they will have a place to sit.
Sara's family and friends came and the cheering section was on. During the game, win or lose a point, Sara's fans were cheering, ranting and raving. Meanwhile Sara had the biggest smile on her face that can be seen from across the street.
Her fans quickly became volleyball fans as it compelled Sara's team to a 2-1 victory and sparked Sara to set immaculate balls to her teammates.
For all the volleyball madness her cheering section provided we give the player of the week award to Sara Johnson for bringing her family to the fun and full of smiles on their faces.

Championship Week
"You mean we're playing for money?" Those were the words by Shaggin' Balls, Tracy Benson as he stepped on the court to play for the championship. But it wasn't the gift certificate or the champ sweatbands that inspired him and his team to play.
Tracy Benson was inspired by fun and it reflected off of his teammates. He would celebrate when his team would score. He had a huge smile on his face when the opposing team would score. He was the 1st one to congratulate the other players on a game well played.
Tracy not only displayed great sportsmanship, but he showed what a true Underdog athlete is made of....FUN! Tracy had fun on and off the court with his teammates and with others and that is why we give him the Player of the Week Award. Congratulations.
