Maximus
Just call him "The Glue". Justin Sanderson from I'd Hit That made some calls and brought people together to form a team of all stars, the reason for The Glue.
In the season opener of volleyball on the westside of town, Justin came in ready to play with his game face on. Once his team trickled in, Justin commanded his all stars like Maximus did in the movie Gladiator. Justin even had the mark of a Legionare as he coached his team to their positions.
I'd Hit That ended up losing the match, but it was because they were all nervous with butterflies. Now that they have their 1st game under their belt, next week might be different as they were consistent in their progression.
Despite their lose, Justin and his team were full of smiles with great sportsmanship and for that we give them the Player(s) of the Week award. Congratulations!

"Yea Buddy"
This week's player of the week award goes to a girl that may be a bit short, but stands out like a watermelon trying to blend in with potatoes.
Sophia Stalliviere from Diggin' Deep was in the zone......in her world. She was jammin' out to great music in her head while she kept the positive attitude rolling.
On the court, after every score, she would yell out "Yea Buddy!' and after every point the other team would score, she would begin jive talkin' and putting on dancing moves that would be illegal in 5 countries.
Sofia always had a smile on her face and despite loosing to a great team, she would say "....I'm thirsty for beer." and kept that vibrant smile going.
I talked to her after the game about what she would say to people when meeting them. She simply replied "Sophina if you nasty!"
Great personality, great attitude and tons of fun. Sophia Stalliviere gets the Player of the Week award.

The player of the week this week goes to the girl with the serves and swerves. Pisith Kong "PK" knows how to have fun at volleyball. She's dancing through the court between points, cheering on her teammates, and always wears a smile. The rhino dance is definitely a crowd favorite.
Even when unexpected plays happen she's there with the comic relief "I hate you stupid beam!" Congratulations PK and keep bringing the party to volleyball on Friday nights.

Gabi Duarte
Rodger Dodger- Indy #1
This week's player of the week goes to Gabi Duarte. From the moment she stepped on the court if was clear that she was glad to be back. Gabi had several great attacks during the games and gave the opponents at the net a hard time with the comical trash talking.

One memorable moment comes to mind when instead of blocking an opposing attack Gabi ducked to the floor. She came up laughing and declared "I thought someone was gonna fly over me and hit that!" Again in the third game when Chad flew under the net onto the other side of the court Gabi states "I didn't see anything....I thought he was just on your team" Always with a smile and a great attitude for volleyball fun. Thank you to Gabi our player of the week!

This week's player of the week is Dillion Philo! He was a great team player tonight. Encouraging teammates throughout all three games. So focused on getting a side out and a point that he almost tried to serve for Sarah. Thank you Dillion for playing with a smile on your face and helping Rodger Dodger set it up and spike through several very intimidating blocks from the Monkees team.

Congratulations Dillion our player of the week!

Scrappy Doo!
This week's player of the week goes to Ryan from Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees. This was a very exciting game to watch! Both teams brought their A game for the play-offs. So many rallies it was hard to keep track of which team had actually served. Ryan was a standout this week. I cannot count the number of times he saved the rally with a ball that seemed like it was lost. Out of the net, off the ceiling, no matter where the ball went Ryan was there to get it.

Great game this week Hey,Hey, We're the Monkees and congratulations to Ryan our player of the week!

The positive duo
This week's player of the week goes to the duo of positivity from Diggin' Deep Garrett and Sophia. This was the final game of the season and both teams were nervous. On separate instances both Garrett and Sophia exclaimed, "I'm so nervous! I couldn't sleep at all!"

As the teams battled it out to the end these two were out to have a good time. Consistently offering support and chatter to their teams. Instead of calling in and out there was one ball in particular where they exclaimed "It had sex with the line jesus that was so close!" amid tons of laughter from both sides of the net.

Garrett even realized that if he put his arms straight in the air from the back row during serve receive it was his good luck charm. Thank you for an eventful season and a great championship night of volleyball. Congratulations Garret and Sophia!
