One way to earn some attention is to roll your ankle, calmly explain that it is dislocated and it's happened before, and then reinsert yourself into the lineup and continue to hit like a machine. That's John-Youngblood-playing-in-the-superbowl-with-a-broken-leg status. Put that together with range like Jeter (early career), swatting frozen ropes into left field, moon shots, and all around good play and that is Underdog-player-of-the-week status.

Double Headers
Pabst Smear, mad batters
Jon Farley
Jon Farley
Falco's Army
JMF was terror at the plate and on the base paths. It seemed every time he struck the ball it found a gap between the outfielders or went clear over there heads and rolled for days. The defense never had a chance to stop JMF before he cruised over the plate for what seemed countless inside the park home runs. Add to that the effort resulted in a victory in a heated rivalry and Jon is our player of the week!

Happy Birthday Vanessa!
These guys were having a blast. They showed up nearly at noon, and partied until their game at 430! Vanessa had a birthday and cheers for her and her team could be heard all game long. Her great play seemed to fire up the crowd even further. And to boot, they had no quit in their heart and kept playing hard right up until the bottom of the seventh! See everyone next week!

Huevos Grandes
Sabrina, or "Bri," is this weeks POTW. Bri mixed in a stellar pitching performance in game two and some timely hitting (including a double) to lead Huevos Grandes to a two game sweep of their double header on Mother's Day. Couple that with Bri's poignant, and light hearted, commentary on the mound and from the dugout and you arrive at Bri as player of the week!

Double Headers
B-Side Bombers
Solera
Solera
B-Side Bombers
Solera broke onto the scene as a newly minted pitcher and did not disappoint. No matter what the scoreboard says, Solera pitched at least 12 strong innings, pumping strikes and keeping everyone on their toes. For a player with a self professed lack of pitching experience, tying on both games from the rubber is no easy feat. However, she had an inherent ability to find the strike zone and make the game fun--even when things got chippy!

Abe Stoltz
Falco's Army
With his impressive pitching and clutch hitting Abe did his best to try and pull it out for Falco's Army.
Most impressive was his good natured play and ability to make those around him better while having a good time! Thanks for being an allstar Abe!
