Hail beat down on the brand new field at Grant High School just prior to opening day games. But the ever changing Portland weather swung in our favor and the sun came out as the clock started for this game. Tempermental and Blood, Sweat, and Beers faced off in a high scoring match filled with deep passes and goal line stops.
This one went back and forth until the very end with both teams trading touchdowns. Jeff P. secured the win for Tempermental by soaring high to snag a touchdown with only a few seconds left and putting them up four.
These two veteran teams put on a show for opening day which turned out to be a surprisingly sunny day.

Skillicorns (Indy #FF10)
SKillicorns and RIOT found themselves in a close, back and forth defensive battle when they rain came down in a torrential fashion. This game came down to the final minutes with each team holding staunch and forcing turnovers. Allen ran a great route to the corner and somehow managed hold onto the soaking football. He laid it all out put the Skillicorns up for good to walk away victors. Funnily enough, that is about when the rain stopped, for awhile at least.

No Punt Intended were easy to spot down field in their various bright orange shirts. Sara found herself all alone streaking down the far sideline and with a beautifully thrown pass, she had the go-ahead touchdown. No Punt Intended were also sporting some fresh arm bands with plays which allowed the binder to stay on the sideline for this game. They have now own two games in as many weeks, next week is looking as bright as those shirts!

Blood, Sweat, and Beers
Carol set the tone early for Blood, Sweat and Beers in this extremely wet game. Carol found the endzone a few times in the first half to give her team a solid lead before the rain turned sideways. After a slightly extended halftime due to the hail, both teams came out firing, posting scores one after another.
Carol continued to work the entire field, pulling flags for big third down stops and finding the open space for receptions. BSB brings their record up to 2-2 now and are looking to keep this pace up with playoffs looming in just a few more weeks.

Highlight the D
Lauren 'Randy' Moss went up strong for the ball and not unlike her copycat Randy Moss, had no trouble holding onto it while getting sandwiched by two defenders. Flags went flying as she came down in the endzone for the big time touchdown. She coolly walked back to the line of scrimmage for the extra point like it was no big deal. Highlight the D has some big time players, but no one is playing as well right now as Lauren 'Randy' Moss.

This was a match for the ages between Tempermental and Blood, Sweat and Beers. It was a back and forth battle with teams matching scores and stops possession after possession. Matt S. came through for Tempermental finding the end zone one final time to put them in the lead to win the game. BSB couldn't overcome the stifling defense Tempermental on the last drive. Matt S. and Tempermental are off to a hot start in these playoffs and looking ready as ever for the championship next week!

Brandon and Tempermental took the field today against the best defensive team in the league, Highlight the D, to battle for the championship. Brandon made smart decisions at quarterback the entire game, taking to the air and hitting every receiver. He also knew when to put it on the ground and use his lightning quick speed. His decision making and the crisp routes of his receivers allowed them to throw 62 points on the board. That was plenty good for the championship.
