Oleg Buzhduga
Indy Team #V49
Oleg Buzhduga was this weeks player of the week.

Oleg was joining the league as a independent and was put on the Indy Team #49. Oleg was soooo excited to be joining his new team and our league that he showed up 2 hours before his game.

Oleg was observed watching the other teams and learning the "Underdog Way" prior to his 9 PM match. Once his team showed up he was quick to socialize with them in preparation for their big match against Octothorpes. (I just learned that's a fancy name for hash tag)

During the match Oleg's effort was inspiring. More than once I could see him going the extra effort to dive for the ball and get his teammates involved. He truly displayed an amazing "Underdog Spirit" for the match. He cheered and talked so loud that by the end of the night he had almost lost his voice. His team, even though a group of individuals who came together for the first time tonight, were seen picking each other up and displaying great teamwork.

Way to go Oleg, thanks for being such a great ambassador of the Underdog Mentality and helping your team have a successful opening night!

Sarah Galea'i
Ballernesian
That loud sonic boom that you could hear throughout the complex and the city of Milwaukee, Oregon for that matter on Thursday evening was no doubt the serves that Sarah Galea'i was raining down on her opponent.

Maybe it was the spiking show that she and her teammates were putting on display that was reminiscent of the 4th of July Fireworks spectacle I saw this year. Either way, Sarah had an impressive run last night and ended up winning the 3rd game for her team with 5 straight bullets that she fired over to the opposing team.

Well done Sarah, way to bring the thunder, and way to represent Ballernesian!

Ball Busters Motivation
Her voice can be heard ringing throughout the gym. The cheering and support flows down like the Multnomah falls over her teammates.

No opponents lead is safe with Brandi at the helm, she refuses to give up and rally's her team's spirit throughout the evening.

Always quick to offer a word of encouragement and a little "pick me up" attitude, Brandi wears her Underdog Spirit not only on her shirt, but in her heart. That's why Brandi is this week's player of the week for Thursday night volleyball at SE PDX.

Thank you Brandi for your inspiration to not only your team, but the rest of us!

Mark Mattson- The big easy
Let's Talk About Sets, Baby
Whether its coming up with a dig, a big hit, or a big smile, Mark always displays a great fun laid back game that elevates his teams overall play for the night.

You would think that a man that towers over most players and looks like he could flip over a car would be all about the power game. Not Mark! He simply and smoothly glides around on the court and makes those impacting plays for his team. During last nights matches there were a few moments where Mark even stepped in and delivered several key serves in a row to help his team put the match away.

The "big easy" is this weeks player of the week because of his style and attitude. Thanks for making Thursdays so fun Mark!

Movin on up
Hey all, this week we are going to give player of the week to the Green Bombers. One of our newest up and coming Indy teams, this group of folks has been playing it up and having a blast since day one.

Every week they strive to get better and have even started having practices on their own outside of the facility. You can see the chemistry flowing between all of the players and the bond that has developed is second to none.

Thanks guys for all your hard work and dedication to making this a fun league and team experience, you truly represent the Underdog Style!

Pound Town (Indy Team #V49)
Come a long way
Pound Town started the session off getting to know one another and have recently blossomed into a viable threat in the soft core division.

Through on court communication, dedication, and outright hustle, they are staring to put together quite the team that will have them competing at the top next session.

This team is fun to watch and dare I say are an inspirational model for other teams that are new to Underdog on what an Indy team is all about.

That's why they are this weeks team of the week. Way to go Team! Keep up the good work and good luck in playoffs!

Chad Houghton
Chad Houghton
Block N' Bleed
In between points you can find him stretching to increase his quickness and enhance his vertical. His all out effort and cat like reflexes are what make Chad the player of the week.

Acting as a strong supporter for his team when he is on the sidelines he is quick to flash a smile and offer a word or two of encouragement when he sees them make a good play.

With a Low and lethal line drive serve he can quickly rally off 4-5 points in a row.

His overall fun loving underdog attitude is the icing on the cake for this special, team first, player.

Way to go Chad and way to go Block n Bleed on a fun session full of spirit and heart.
