After a grueling season and equally punishing playoffs, the Bloopers emerged victorious. Things didn't come easy, however, the Balls of Fury put up quite a fight - all the way to the end. The Balls of Fury drew first blood with a 2 run second inning. The Bloopers then reeled off 6 un-answered runs and appeared heading towards an easy win. The Balls of Fury rallied the troops and pulled within a run in the top half of the 6th. The Bloopers tightened thier belts and got the three crucial outs in the top of the 7th to preserve the 6-5 victory and the championship.
The third place game had just as many late game fireworks as the championship game. After a bottom of the seventh grand slam with 2 outs by the Eradicators to tie the game, the Eradicators pushed a run across in the bottom of the 9th to wrap up third place.
Congrats to the Bloopers, and the rest of the league for a great season.
Brian was the glue that held everything together for the Bloopers. Just when it looked like the other team was going to come from behind in the championship game, Brian settled his team down and provided the heads-up defense to preserve the win. Brian was also an instrumental part in the Bloopers offensive success. Great all around game when it mattered the most!
Andrew was a vacuum at third base. Nothing was getting by him. Andrew also had a grand slam home run to help propel the Bloopers to a five run win. Without Andrew's fantastic play in the field and at the plate, the Bloopers would have been hard pressed to pull out the victory. He was the straw that stirred the drink for the Bloopers this week.
On the mound, Darren was the model of consistency, getting the needed outs on ground balls and delivering a well placed - kickable pitch. Also, with his cheery disposition, Darren showed what it means to be the ultimate team player. As the vocal leader of the Bloopers, he is always the first to congratulate a teammate after making a good play as well as the first to offer encouragement when a play didn't quite go someone's way.
