Cromartie's Kids had a back to back game on Sunday and they played like a pack of crazy bulls running on the field. They were led by their quarterback, Andy Oldenburg.
In the 1st game, Andy had an outstanding game. He threw for 2 touchdowns, ran for 2 more and displayed his defensive presence by grabbing 2 sacks. He was a monster on the field like the hulk.....don't get him angry!
In the 2nd game, he continued his onslaught in an epic game that went into overtime. Unfortunately, they came up short losing 55-54 in overtime. But nonetheless, an amazing run and great game play the whole season for Andy Oldenburg, this week's player of the week.
Cromartie's Kids' Joel Higgins had a great defensive game today. Maybe because he was inspired by "The Leader of the Resistance", John Conner in Terminator Salvation.
Joel was an animal on the field today! He lead his team on defense pulling 4 flag pulls and 2 interceptions. The only thing missing from his game today was a cool facial scar and a ferocious scream. He set the defensive tempo early for his team, rushing the quarterback and creating havoc. Just when it seemed as though he was tired and out of breath, he would find it within himself to make his presence known by picking off the ball, unfortunately, he didn't have enough energy to return the interceptions, but it fired up his team and lead to touchdowns.
Because of Joel's great game play and his uncanny resemblance to Terminator Salvation's John Conner, we give the player of the week award to Joel Higgins. Congratulations and may the resistance live on!
Cromartie's Kids came back this season with an old face, Travis McGuire. Travis suffered a broken finger last season as they were making their playoff run and was out for the rest of the season.
Travis decided to tape it up and while rocking a new head band and all, he helped his team to a victory in the season's opener.
In the 1st half, he made his 1st reception and was asked if his finger hurts. He simply smiled and shows his hand. With his teammates cheering him on and the imaginary fans chanting for him, he is now known as Koko...the 9 fingered man!
Cromartie's Kids played a back to back and Koko continued to make plays for his team when they needed him, helping his team to an amazing come from behind tie and a victory in the 2nd game.
For his valiant effort, we give him the player of the week award!
