Charlie the Shoeless Wonder

Even the world’s best can’t understand what happened

Home runs aren't rare in our leagues, but they definitely aren’t an every inning type of play. Another thing that doesn’t happen very frequently is a shoe flying off a kicker’s foot as he’s in the middle of his kick. Whether it was because the stars were in perfect alignment or all the forces of the universe really wanted to see it happen, both plays were combined in a once in a lifetime flying shoe home run that just left everyone confused as to how it was possible. As Charlie came home and took his shoe from the ump, even he shook his head a little as if he couldn’t quite believe it himself. While truly an incredible experience for all of us at Tuesday night kickball at Peninsula, we won’t be holding our breaths expecting to ever see someone like Charlie the Shoeless Winder pull off another such feat.
