Summer Softcore Kickball at Peninsula Park Tuesdays

Reeve is an excellent kickball player. You knew this guy was money after he mashed a grand slam. Not only does he have a golden boot, but his effort in the field cannot go unnoticed. He caught everything sent his way, including two diving catches. Well done Reeve!

Sam displayed exemplary sportsmanship. He was a great teammate and created a fun environment for both teams. Also played great defense behind the plate!Keep it up!

Devan puts on an amazing display of energy all over the field. Not only does he make great catches in center field, but he sprints the ball in to make sure base runners don’t advance. He also has a powerful leg, as he showed us Tuesday with a three run bomb to left field. Keep it up Devan!

Home runs aren't rare in our leagues, but they definitely aren’t an every inning type of play. Another thing that doesn’t happen very frequently is a shoe flying off a kicker’s foot as he’s in the middle of his kick. Whether it was because the stars were in perfect alignment or all the forces of the universe really wanted to see it happen, both plays were combined in a once in a lifetime flying shoe home run that just left everyone confused as to how it was possible. As Charlie came home and took his shoe from the ump, even he shook his head a little as if he couldn’t quite believe it himself. While truly an incredible experience for all of us at Tuesday night kickball at Peninsula, we won’t be holding our breaths expecting to ever see someone like Charlie the Shoeless Winder pull off another such feat.
