The Championship came down to two tough teams - Not in the Face, ranked as the 3rd seed went up against the powerhouse Ball Busters squad who rolled through the playoffs only losing one game prior to the championship. The match was very strategic as both teams were afraid to let anything get out of control. Well placed leg shots were being thrown from both sides and great catches were being made left and right. The Ball Busters, however, jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Not in the Face responded with their first victory of the match. Not in the Face fought hard to maintain numbers against a constant barrage of throws from the Ball Busters but in the end could not hold up, losing 4-2. Ball Busters are the champions of this seasons’ Wednesday league with the 4-2 victory over Not in the Face.
Connie Yoes is a dodgeball master and had one of the coolest catches ever tonight. I'm pretty sure the ball bounced off of 12 body parts before she made the snag. It was a huge catch that swung the numbers in her teams' way. Her teammates afterwards remarked "Can you believe she has grandkids!?!" Nobody would have guessed that, especially the two teams that she schooled tonight! For Connie's dodgeballerness and awesome catches that helped her team to two big wins, she is our POTW.
No advantage is safe when she is in the game! The only way she isn't dangerous is when she is out sick!
A powerhouse with enough strength for ten men, proof positive as she successfully turned a 3 on 1 disadvantage around for a match win! Great week of play Kayla.
