It was anyone's game, and from the get go everyone knew the final score was going to be close. After giving up five in the first inning, Blue Sky and the Devils brought it back to within two entering the final inning. Fortunately for RO-SHAM-BO, the entire team brought their ROCK solid defense, SCISSOR like kicks, and an as light as PAPER attitude in the seventh to prevail. There was an amazing wristband presentation ceremony, cheers galore, and endless smiles to cap off the night; it was just like the movies (coming to a screen near you...)!
Now I think it is safe to say that everyone enjoys a player who is determined to crush the ball out of the park. Piseth went above and beyond the call of duty for his team when he was up to bat. His warrior grunt every time he kicked the ball was what got the team's juices flowing. That extra few yards he got with his grunt did wonders for him and his team. Piseth, thank you for your warrior call that got the momentum rolling!
So in kickball there are a lot of balls right across the plate that are strikes, plenty that are close, and lots of balls, like the pitcher thinks they are gonna brush the kicker off the plate with a wild pitch.
But once in a great while, there is that perfect strike. The strike, that no one in their right mind would think about passing up, but do.
Eric, our player of the week, had just that pitch. So dazzling was it, in spin, speed, height, and over all beauty, that the kicker had little choice but to take the strike, while basking in the magnificence of it all.
Most in attendance agree that our lives our just a little better, stress a little lower, and anxiety a little more manageable having been witness to this stunning display of accuracy and poise.
Thanks, Eric. You're a great guy, good sport, fun to be around, and a spectacular Underdog!
With their pink tees and striped socks, RO-SHAM-BO always comes to play. To our joy, their competitiveness is always out-shined by their friendliness. Commending the opposition on nice kicks and catches, RO-SHAM-BO always has a fair share of amazing plays and kickball acrobatics of their own. This week they even added the "GRUNT", a loud, deep "UUUHHH" noise accompanying their kicks, catches, and heaves. It made us want to say "UUUHHH, Na Na Nana"...
Amy showed up week one, with no practice, killed it with 3 RBI's in one game! Stunned, her fellow players sat shocked as she owned most the field. A fan from the stands was overheard saying, "Hey I thought there were no ringers!"
