Let's call it what it is... BACK TO BACK CHAMPS!
As the perennial powerhouse in this league, these long time veterans have taken 2015 by storm. Much like fine wine, they just keep getting better season after season. They have found new ways to score this season with some creative plays and really locking down on the defensive end.
This playoff run was no different than the spring season's playoffs. They took advantage early each game, putting up points and finding ways to create turnovers.
The championship game was not much different. Pull it Out in the End struggled to find their offensive flow with Chris under center as AA broke up plays by jumping routes and Nate holding steady at the first down line. A quarterback change for Pull it Out in the End sparked some offense for a few drives. Ultimately though they could not overcome the onslaught of points AA put up in the second half.
It was another solid win for this crafty group, earning those highly touted wristbands. We may have to make some headbands for AA's next championship, as their arms are undoubtedly covered.
There is nothing like an incredible catch in the corner of the end zone with one toe coming down in bounds for the touchdown. Justin of Alcoholics Anonymous can't seem to get enough of those every week. And I mean every week. It is to the point that we might as well just stick a ref on Justin just to call his toe tappin' grabs.
This week he came down with more than a few to propel his team to a championship victory.
It seems like every end zone play Justin runs to the back corner and starts screaming, "TOMMY, TOMMY, TOMMY!" Inevitably the quarterback (Tommy) starts to scramble and with uncanny accuracy lofts the ball high and to the corner where somehow even with what seems like half the defense sprinting that way Justin jumps above the rest to snatch it out of the air. And again somehow he leaves just enough room to get his toe in bounds.
Justin has it down to an art form at this point, he rarely doesn't make the catch or find a way to stay in bounds. He is as consistent as they come and while AA has a multitude of weapons, Just-In-Time keeps every defense on their toes.
As soon as both teams stepped on the field, you could tell it was going to be a battle for the ages. The look in everyone's eyes raged of fire and fury amidst the blistering heat of the early evening. Kiss My End Zone and Alcoholics Anonymous were ready to show the league who's top dog.
No one had more focus and more tenacity than Sami S. for A.A. though. It was a close battle the entire game as Sami came up with big time play after big time play. She brought the house down late in the second half to snap the back and forth touchdown tossing between teams. Sami jumped a quick route by the receiver, scooped up the interception and sprinted down the sideline to put her team in position to score again.
Her quick thinking and even quicker hands helped secure this victory for A.A. They now sit atop the leader board alone at 4-0. And so far you'd have to name Sami MVP of this team.
