After a full season of great kickballing, Blue Balls takes home the championship! An entire day of close, quick kickball games brought Blue Balls, Balls Deep (all dresed up in their smoothest of silk ties), Schweddy Balls, and We Got the Runs into the final four for the tournament.
The Schweddy Balls vs. Balls Deep match-up brought some fierce competition in an extremely close game all the way through. Finally, in the bottom of the 10th inning, a great kick into right field brought in the winning Schweddy Balls run to take the game and move them on to the finals.
In the second semi-final match, Blue Balls took a couple innings to work out the kinks in their offense while We Got the Runs pulled in some great outs in the field. By the 3rd, Blue Balls had regained their game and pulled in four quick runs with multiple consecutive doubles. We Got the Runs kept the damage minimal and was able to tack on a couple runs of their own, but the Blue Balls kept trickling in over home plate. The quick game shows just how good the defense on both sides had played.
Blue Balls finished the match off in the bottom of the 6th with a few more runs tacked onto the board and threw themselves into the finals for what would be a quick game. At the end of the game, Schweddy had kept Blue Balls to 3 runs and had been able to put up a run of their own against the mighty Blue Ball defense.
A rather abrupt finish to the day saw Blue Balls ahead of the pack and walking home with the champion's prize. Congratulations, Blue Balls! See you all next season...
