Summer Co-ed Softcore Kickball at Col. Summers Park M/W

Although it was a routine pop fly to right field Terra zeroed in on the ball and made a spectacular catch. She had the right position and everything...except her shoulder thought something different! She showed that shoulder who's boss though and with a quick pop as she was walking to the sidelines as the inning was over she told it who's boss and continued her unparalleled support of her team. Way to go Terra, you rock!

A multiple HR day for Mr. Alex as he accounted for more than 25% of their teams runs for the day. In a tight game the entire way Alex led the charge for The Kick-Ballers and not once, not twice, but three times kicked the ball into outer space!

Balls Deep player Austin Shaffer showed everyone today how deep he can kick those balls with not just one but two monster shots that saw him round the bases. With a close score virtually the entire game Austin's production made the difference and sealed the deal for Balls Deep. Both at-bats we saw deep fly balls towards right-center and Austin enthusiastically cleared the bases while on a full-out sprint around the bases.

Nothing much to say here about why Rose wins player of the week...except she is frickin' awesome! Yes, she made it to home plate when no one would expect her to! We won't go into details but she was a key to the win of Grass Kickers giving them inspiration without even needing to say a word.

Wow, wow, wow...what a game! Both teams came with their A game offensively today with a whopper of a final score of 21-20. The best part about it is neither team held the lead for long with only one team leading for more than an inning. Dave was the run-down king but Keith stole the hearts of the crowd as he plowed down a spectator almost to the fence line in deep left-center field. No one quite knows if he did it on purpose as the blond he ran over caused a few people to question his motives...kind of. Of course this game ended in the bottom of the 7th inning when the Grass Kickers came back from being down 20-19 to start the inning. This was an entire team effort today!

Mike (AKA Boyfriend, darling, baby-doll, schnookums, sweetie-pie, etc.) was the hero of the day tonight. His gold glove was enough to earn him Player of the Week but his slide into 3rd base sealed the deal! It was just as much awkward as it was spectacular as he decided to slide AFTER he already made it to 3rd base. He says it was a slip but by all other accounts it was purposeful. Regardless, anyone would be happy to call you their #1 boyfriend after today's game!

Although The Kick-ballers didn't play an "official" game because of a forfeit, Megan did have one-half of the best outs we've ever seen in Underdog! With a scrimmage against the "park people", Megan (and her dog) were out in left center field. The umpire decided to play on the "park people" team and had one of the best kicks into left-center EVER! Yet for some reason Megan didn't agree and while charging in on it decided instead of diving for it she would just kick her foot out at it and kick it back into the air towards the infield. Sure enough, it went right to the shortstop who was drifting out on the play. No, it never did hit the ground so yes, it was an out. AWESOME!

This week's POW goes to none other than the "Kids". No silly, we're not talking about children as this is an adult league...we're talking about Kicks are for Kids! With a dominating beatdown by Peg You in The Head in Week 3 for the Kids only loss of the season, the Kids came into this game thinking about payback. Although the first inning didn't goes as planned with Peg You going up 6-0 in the top of the 1st inning that didn't seem to faze the Kids too much and they started to apply the gas about half way through the game. With a spectacular extra inning win in the bottom of the 8th inning the Kids secured themselves a place in the championship game. Way to go Kids!
