POTW: Scott Read

Chewbacca's Wreckin Ballasz- Indy #2

Other than a sportscenter-worthy, run-saving, diving catch through the rain and mud of King School Park, Scott Read's performance Sunday was nothing out of the ordinary for him. His soft-spoken leadership and steady performance led his team to another victory. For consistency and excellent sportsmanship he receives our player of the week honors.

Sunday, May 9

POTW: Tamara Taylor

Chewbacca's Wreckin Ballasz- Indy #2

It was high noon on the grassy fields of King School Park when the Balls & Dolls squared off against Chewbacca's Wreckin' Ballasz. A rusty sign that read "No hardball allowed" rattled in the shifting breeze. After nearly an hour of battle, the two teams were locked in an 8-8 dead heat. It was then that Tamra Taylor stepped up to the plate with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th*. She calmly wiped the sweat from her brow and pummeled the large red ball with her foot, driving home the winning run and sending the crowd in to frenzied chants of "Tamara! Tamara!" (*some facts in this report may have been embellished for dramatic effect)
